As a result, you will only see a portion of the data if you choose a date range that includes a period of time prior to the &#8220;start date&#8221; for a model.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Models based on cross-channel rules: June 14, 2021<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Data-driven attribution across channels: November 1, 2021<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"1_Cross-channel_attribution_model\"><\/span>1. <strong>Cross-channel attribution model<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The cross-channel attribution model uses the following rules to distribute credit:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The <em>data-driven cross-channel attribution model<\/em> uses account data to calculate credit distribution for each touchpoint. The data-driven model is the default model, and Google recommends that marketers use it for accurate reporting.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The <em>last-click cross-channel attribution model<\/em> gives 100% conversion credit to the last channel before conversion.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Examples (last-click cross-channel)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol style=\"color:#2c01ca;background-color:#e2dff4\" class=\"wp-block-list has-text-color has-background\">\n<li>Display > Social > Paid Search > Organic Search \u2192 100% to Organic Search<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Display > Social > Paid Search > Email \u2192 100% to Email<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Display > Social > Paid Search > Direct \u2192 100% to Paid Search (Fall back to last non-direct click)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The <em>first-click cross-channel attribution model<\/em> gives 100% credit to the first touchpoint on the conversion path.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The <em>linear cross-channel attribution model<\/em> distributes credit across all touchpoints a user clicks in equal proportion.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The <em>position-based cross-channel attribution model<\/em> gives 40% credit each to the first and last channel a user interacts with. Google Analytics distributes the remaining 20% to the touchpoints in the middle.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The <em>time decay cross-channel attribution model<\/em> gives more credit to touchpoints closer in time when the conversion happens.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"2_Ads-preferred_attribution_model\"><\/span>2. <strong>Ads-preferred attribution model<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Ads-preferred attribution model gives 100% of the credit to the last Google Ad that a user clicks on.
