We just set up a google tag manager account and connected it to a new GA4 account.

So far so good and the pageviews and other data streams are showing up correctly but custom events do not show up in GA4 although the tests in google tag manager fired correctly and we used exactly the same setup as in other projects.

Waited for more than 48h, still no custom events were appearing in the "Event" report in GA4.
Do you have an idea why this time custom events do not show?

It can take up to 24 hours for newly created events to be shown in the reporting. However you should already be able to see these new events in your real time report. You find this through the main dashboard > Reports > Real-time. You should then see a section where you can see all events that are happening live.

After 24 hours the new events should also show in all other sections where events are displayed.

If you are not seeing events even after 24-48 hours, and you are seeing events via debug in GA4, following could be the reasons:

    1) Please check the reporting identity setting. Enabling Google Signals can enable thresholds for your Google Analytics 4 property.

    2) If Google Signals are enabled, rows with small numbers in reports will be hidden with almost all reporting identities (except device-only).

If you go to "Explore" and create a custom report, only with the "Event" counts, you should be able to see all of your events, even the lowest one.
