Trouble linking ga4 to google ads for shopify store

In Shopify, I navigate to Online Store > Preferences and in the Google Analytics section, I can see my GA4 property in the dropdown menu. However, when I attempt to connect it, I encounter the following error message:

"We are unable to connect your GA4 property due to an issue with your linked Ads account. Please ensure that (my associated email address) has full administrator access to the Ads account linked to this store."

I've verified that I have administrator access in both Google Analytics and Google Ads accounts for the same email address.

In Google Analytics, I've also confirmed that my new GA4 property is linked to my Google Ads account. However, when I go to Google Ads > Admin > Linked Accounts > Google Analytics GA4, only my UA property is visible; the new GA4 property doesn't appear as an option to link. It displays the UA property number, but the name includes my domain with "GA4" appended to it.

I've tried searching for similar issues, but haven't found any helpful solutions. Is there something else I might be overlooking? This situation has me quite confused.

I've managed to discover a solution. Do see if it works for you. Please follow these steps:

1. Go to your Shopify admin.
2. Navigate to Sales channels, then select Google.
3. Click on Settings, and proceed to Disconnect Your Google Ads account.
4. Go back to the Overview section and find "Optimize your business with Google Analytics." Connect your GA4 Analytics property here (Ensure you've completed Step 2).
5. Return to the Overview section once more and locate "Promote your products on Google." Here, connect your Google Ads account.
